Bookmark of the Day, TED!

TED (Technology Entertainment Design) is an annual conference held in Monterey, California and recently, semi-annually in other cities around the world. TED describes itself as a “group of remarkable people that gather to exchange ideas of incalculable value”. Its lectures cover a broad set of topics including science, arts, politics, global issues, architecture, music and more.

I have become completely addicted to this site. The website adds new talks every week, and you can download them and share them easily, free of charge.

You can watch the talks on the TED website, or on YouTube, or on the TED blog. You can also subscribe to their video podcast, and there is also a feature-length documentary  available on the conference called “The Future We Will Create.”

I’m working on a couple of posts that have been inspired by some of the talks, and I will highlight my favorite talks as soon as I watch them!

  1. you should do the “pangea day” thing….i’m sure people in Africa would want to see what a rich white girl in texas does on a daily basis! They would probably feel sorry for you.

  2. Since when am I rich Joseph? I eat Easy Mac 4 nights a week. Ha!

I haven’t seen the video yet, I’ll watch it tonight.

  3. your rich if you look collectively at all countries together…..is what i meant. Rich people can’t eat mac and cheese?!
