2007 Primetime Emmys: Fashion hits and misses and a little bit of controversy!

I didn’t watch much of last night’s Emmy Awards, but I did manage to catch some of the red carpet arrivals. I always love picking out which celebs are going to be on the best and worst dressed list, and last night it was easy.

I never really feel the need to go over the best dressed list, because I feel like if you are celebrity with millions of dollars and endless fashion and beauty resources at your disposal, you BETTER look frickin’ fabulous. That’s your JOB. If you don’t have good taste, pay someone who does. No excuses, play like champion.

For the record, Katherine Hiegl was the best-dressed celeb of the night, and she doesn’t even have a stylist. She actually picks out her own clothes! Shocking! I didn’t care for a lot of the dresses last night, but three really jumped out at me. Paula Abdul, of course, looked totally heinous, but that’s her schtick.

Getting down to business:

Hayden Panettiere, of Heroes, looked AWFUL. I really don’t understand how anyone, especially a young, cute actress, can put something like that on and think, “Wow, this gigantic, wrinkled, sherbet-colored circus tent is PERFECT for the Emmy’s, I look awesome. Let’s get it.”

Vanessa Williams also looked crap-tacular. Here’s a fashion disaster everyone can learn from : FEATHERS ARE NEVER OKAY! Especially when they’re all over your dress. Come on!!! A lot of birds had to die for you to look that stupid.

Jenna, Jenna, Jenna. You know I love you. I know you just separated from your hubby. But what’s with the gigantic bow? What are you, seven? I’m not crazy about the gold vomit either. You can do better Pam!

There was also a big to do about Sally Field getting her acceptance speech for Best Actress censored, but personally, I don’t see what the big deal is. They cut her off after she said “g-dammned” not because of the content of what she was saying. I personally find it irksome whenever people get political at awards shows anyways. Use your speech to thank people that helped you win your award, rude! Ray Romano was also “censored”, except it was for dropping the f-bomb, which is ridiculous. There’s not even room for debate about that one, networks can’t air language like that! Moron…
